The Transportation Authority Board approved over $2.7 million in half-cent sales tax for transportation funds to support the construction of pedestrian safety improvements recommended in the Bayview Community-Based Transportation Plan, a community-driven planning effort in partnership with SFMTA.

Express lanes are a system of managed lanes used as a pricing tool for managing demand on freeways. Freeway congestion has returned and we are exploring what it takes to build out a regional express lane network that supports equity, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and manages congestion.

Our board approved $50,000 in half-cent sales tax funds to support a study that will identify emission reduction strategies for deliveries in the city’s downtown core.

This project will design and install rectangular rapid flashing beacons, pedestrian push buttons, and improved signage to improve pedestrian safety at the intersection of 38th Avenue and Geary Boulevard.
