BART Perks was a six-month test program to explore new ways to reduce crowding on BART.

We continue to work with the governor’s office, and state and local representatives to identify solutions to congestion in the area.

We are seeking input from Treasure Island residents and businesses on when and where an autonomous shuttle pilot should operate and other service attributes.

We joined U.S. Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Mayor London Breed, SFMTA Director Jeffrey Tumlin, Chinatown Community Development Center Director Malcolm Yeung, and San Francisco Building Trades Secretary-Treasurer Rudy Gonzalez at the Central Subway, set to open on November 19.

BART celebrated its 50th birthday this month with an event at Oakland's Lake Merritt Station and Plaza, featuring a silver time capsule unveiling from 1992, educational booths, historical displays, and more. The Transportation Authority has been a strong supporter of BART and has directed tens of millions of dollars from San Francisco's half-cent sales tax programs to fund BART-related improvements.

To kick off Transit Month and owe joined Transportation Authority Board Chair Rafael Mandelman, Mayor London Breed, city officials, San Francisco Transit Rider members, and the community to kick off Transit Month with a Ride Along and Rally.

We’re preparing to pilot an autonomous vehicle shuttle service on Treasure Island to better understand how an on-island shuttle could meet the needs of people traveling around the neighborhood and to provide the community with opportunities to learn about autonomous vehicles.
