Introduction

The Westside Network Study, a collaboration between the Transportation Authority, SF Planning, and SFMTA, will analyze the multimodal westside transportation network and offer recommendations to ensure the network is meeting local needs now and into the future.

Past city plans show that neighborhoods in western San Francisco experience unique transportation challenges. The study will seek to address these known needs and respond to expected growth on the westside, as forecast by the SF Planning Department.

The study will propose mid-term solutions (within a ten to fifteen year implementation timeframe) which could improve the performance of the westside network and help achieve San Francisco’s citywide transportation goals. The Westside Network Study will be closely coordinated with the ongoing update to San Francisco’s long-range transportation plan, the San Francisco Transportation Plan 2050+, or SFTP+, which describes the city’s 30 year plan for transportation investments.
