The SFMTA and SF Public Works delivered traffic calming improvements to enhance safety for people walking, biking, and driving in the Mission and Bernal Heights neighborhoods in District 9. We supported the project with $165,000 from the Neighborhood Program at the request of Transportation Authority Board Member Hilary Ronen (District 9).

SF Paratransit is a service of SFMTA that provides van and taxi services to people with disabilities who are unable to use public transit independently.

New Transportation Authority-funded electric vehicle fast chargers open for use in the Inner Richmond and Outer Richmond. The Transportation Authority supported the expansion of this charging infrastructure with $200,000 in funding from the Transportation Fund for Clean Air.

SF Public Works installed new street lights along Chinatown’s Joice Alley in August 2023, as part of the Joice Alley Lighting Improvement Project. The Transportation Authority provided $500,000 in Prop AA Vehicle Registration Fee to support the design and construction of the project.

The Upper Market Safety Project installed a variety of sidewalk and roadway improvements in the vibrant neighborhood along Market Street from Octavia Boulevard to Castro Street, a one-mile stretch of the city’s Vision Zero High Injury Network.

The project installed safety improvements along 5th Street between Market and Townsend Streets in the South of Market neighborhood. The Transportation Authority provided over $378,000 in funding to support the project.
