This SFMTA- led project includes roadway and public space improvements to enhance pedestrian safety, improve access to transit stops, reduce both intersection crossing distances and traffic speeds, and provide new community gathering areas. 

New improvements were completed along Divisadero which include longer crossing times for pedestrians, daylighting, pedestrian safety zones, and more. We provided $270,000 in Neighborhood Program funding to support the project.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, John F. Kennedy Drive has been closed to cars to allow people to walk and bicycle while social distancing. We evaluated options for JFK Drive to improve park access which was summarized in a final report approved by the Transportation Authority Board.

The Balboa Area Transportation Demand Management Framework process was designed to initiate collaboration between the City, City College of San Francisco, and surrounding neighborhoods in the effort to encourage sustainable transportation choices in the area.

The Transportation Authority board recently voted to support three projects that improve transportation access for low-income residents with funding from the San Francisco Lifeline Transportation Program.
