The primary objective of this study was to address safety issues at the I-280 northbound Geneva off-ramp including vehicle queues extending to the freeway mainline and related collisions. The study also explored ways to improve multimodal safety while maintaining essential transit and pedestrian movements in the area.

We joined Transportation Authority Chair Mandelman, Transportation Authority Vice Chair Melgar, Transportation Authority Board Member Engardio, SFMTA, San Francisco Public Works, and the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission to celebrate the completion of the L Taraval Improvement Project. We contributed nearly $19 million from our sales tax program and Prop AA funds to support the efforts.

During our September 10 Transportation Authority Board meeting, Vision Zero staff from SFMTA and the San Francisco Department of Public Health presented updates on the quick-build program, severe injury and fatalities trends, and what’s next for Vision Zero.

September celebrates Transit Month and we joined Transportation Authority Commissioners, State Senator Wiener, Mayor Breed, SFMTA, and San Francisco Transit Riders for a rally to kick off a month of transit-related events. Transit Month also highlights the need to fund agencies like SFMTA, BART, and Caltrain, as operators navigate changes due to pandemic-induced travel.
