Upper Market Street Safety Improvements
Upper Market has complex, 6-way intersections and is on San Francisco’s Vision Zero High-Injury Network. Through the Upper Market Street Safety Project, SFMTA will install sidewalk and roadway improvements to make Upper Market safer and more comfortable for people walking, biking, driving, and accessing transit.

Traffic Calming Improvements Delivered in District 9
The SFMTA and SF Public Works delivered traffic calming improvements to enhance safety for people walking, biking, and driving in the Mission and Bernal Heights neighborhoods in District 9. We supported the project with $165,000 from the Neighborhood Program at the request of Transportation Authority Board Member Hilary Ronen (District 9).

The Lifeline Transportation Program funds projects that improve mobility and accessibility in low-income communities and address gaps or barriers identified through community-based transportation plans or other substantive, collaborative, and inclusive planning efforts involving focused outreach to low-income populations.

Transportation Authority Board Approves $10 Million for Paratransit
Our board approved over $10 million in San Francisco’s voter-approved half-cent sales tax for transportation to support the SFMTA’s SF Paratransit program. SF Paratransit is a service of SFMTA that provides van and taxi services to people with disabilities who are unable to use public transit independently.
