The Transportation Authority voted to allocate Prop K Half-Cent Transportation Sales Tax funds to the SFMTA to design safety and livability improvements on Taylor Street.

This month marked the commencement of the Anza Bike Lanes Project with improvements including bike lanes, high visibility crosswalks, and more. The Transportation Authority provided $220,000 in Neighborhood Program funds to support the planning, design, and construction of the project.

Our board approved over $300,000 in half-cent sales tax funds and over $4.4 million in TNC Tax funds to support SFMTA’s Vision Zero Quick-Build Program. This program installs quick-to-deliver reversible and adjustable traffic measures to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety on the Vision Zero High Injury Network.

This month the California State Transportation Agency awarded $130 million in state transit grants as part of the Transit and Intercity Rail Capital Program to San Francisco projects.

A safer and improved Taylor Street is in the works for the Tenderloin community. The Transportation Authority supported the planning and design of this project with over $2.3 million in funding from San Francisco’s half-cent sales tax for transportation.

The Transportation Authority is developing the District 1 Multimodal Transportation Study at the request of District 1 Transportation Authority Board Member Connie Chan to explore ways to improve walking, biking, and transit trips, as well as reduce vehicle trips and greenhouse gas emissions in the neighborhood.
