View from Vista Point

Yerba Buena Island’s Vista Point is open to cyclists and pedestrians weekdays and weekends on the same schedule as the Bay Bridge Bicycle/Pedestrian Path and serves as the access point onto the Path from Yerba Buena Island. Featuring restrooms, benches, a hydration station, and bike racks, Vista Point offers sweeping views of the East Span of the Bay Bridge, San Francisco Bay, and Oakland.

Temporary Shuttle
On weekends and holidays, a free shuttle with bicycle trailer runs between the Vista Point and the corner of Avenue of Palms at 9th Street on Treasure Island. The shuttle allows for safe transportation of cyclists and pedestrians between Treasure Island and Vista Point.

Shuttle Days of Operation: Saturdays, Sundays and Legal Holidays

Shuttle Hours of Operation: From 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM

Shuttle Frequency: Every half-hour. Last daily shuttle departs the YBI Vista Point for Treasure Island at 6:00 PM.

Shuttle Pick-Up Points:

  • On Yerba Buena Island: YBI Vista Point (Zuckermann Path western terminus at Hillcrest Road)
  • On Treasure Island: Avenue of the Palms at 9th Street

Project background
Coordinating with the Treasure Island Development Authority, Caltrans, and Bay Area Toll Authority, the Transportation Authority led construction of Vista Point under a license agreement with the U.S. Coast Guard, which owns the site. The Transportation Authority and Bay Area Toll Authority each contributed $1 million to design, build and maintain the Vista Point facility.

The Vista Point project was spearheaded by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority, in cooperation with The Metropolitan Transportation Commission’s Bay Area Toll Authority, Caltrans, and the Treasure Island Development Authority.
