Beginning February 12, 2022, cyclists will have weekend access to Macalla Road between Vista Point on Yerba Buena Island and Treasure Island.

The access is limited to weekends due to ongoing construction on the Southgate Road Realignment Project. Expanded access to Macalla Road and new sidewalks will be available once Southgate construction is substantially  complete, expected by summer 2022.

Bicyclists

Beginning February 12, 2022, the following schedule applies: 

  • Weekends and holidays: Macalla Road between Vista Point on Yerba Buena Island and Treasure Island along Macalla Road is open sunrise to sunset.   
  • Weekdays: Macalla Road between Vista Point on Yerba Buena Island and Treasure Island is closed

Pedestrians

Beginning February 12, 2022, the following schedule applies:

  • Weekdays, weekends, and holidays: There is no pedestrian access on Macalla Road because there is no sidewalk yet. (Sidewalk access along Macalla Road will be available once Southgate Road Realignment construction is complete.)

Vista Point on Yerba Buena Island

Beginning February 12, 2022: the following schedule applies:

  • Weekdays, weekends, and holidays: Vista Point on Yerba Buena Island is open to bicyclists and pedestrians from sunrise to sunset.
