The Transportation Authority, in collaboration with SFMTA, is exploring ways to improve safety and access to parks, schools, hospitals, and recreational areas for children, seniors, and people with disabilities in the Marina, Pacific Heights, Presidio Heights, Cathedral Hill, and Anza Vista neighborhoods, as part of the District 2 Safety Study.

Based on feedback collected in the first round of outreach last year, we have identified quick-build measures across five neighborhoods in District 2. Quick-build projects are reversible, adjustable traffic safety improvements that can be installed relatively quickly.

We want to hear from you!

We want your input to understand your level of support for the proposed measures and to guide longer-term recommendations.

Give feedback through a survey.
Take our survey to share your feedback on proposed traffic safety measures. Give feedback by November 15.

You can also visit the virtual handout (English, Chinese, Spanish) for more information on the study and review proposals.

Request a presentation.
If your organization is interested in receiving a presentation to learn more and share input, please contact d2safety@sfcta.org to coordinate.

The District 2 Safety Study will address safety challenges and barriers to access on routes to land uses that attract children, seniors, and other vulnerable road users including parks, schools, hospitals, and recreational areas. The study will create a toolkit of safety improvements and guidance for implementation. The funding for this study includes implementation of study recommendations as a combination of quick-build or permanent construction.
