Well-maintained streets provide critical infrastructure for safe mobility for people driving, biking, walking, and using transit. During the July 8 Transportation Authority Board meeting, our board approved $2.3 million in Prop AA vehicle registration fee funds to support 46 blocks of pavement renovation in Districts 7, 8, and 11. The funding will also support construction and retrofit of 29 curb ramps, sidewalks, and traffic control features. The board will consider final approval during its July 22 meeting.
SF Public Works inspects each of the City's blocks and assigns a Pavement Condition Index score every two years. The PCI score ranges from a low of 0 to a high of 100. Streets are selected based on PCI scores as well as the presence of transit and bicycle routes, street clearance (coordination with utilities) and geographic equity. The average PCI score within the project limits is in the 60s, indicating rough pavement in need of renovation.

- 14th Avenue: 15th Avenue \ Aloha Avenue to Encinal Walk; Encinal Walk to Noriega Street; Ortega Way \ Pacheco Street to Aerial Way; Aerial Way to Radio Terrace; Ortega Way \ Pacheco Street to Radio Terrace (5 blocks)
- Radio Terrace: 14th Avenue to Rockridge Drive (1 block)
