D10 Supervisor Shamann Walton, SFCTA Director Tilly Chang, with community leaders and community members

On July 16, we joined SF Public Works, District 10 Transportation Authority Board Member Shamann Walton, and community members to celebrate the completion of new and improved lighting along Oakdale Avenue.

The community prioritized new lighting along Oakdale Avenue in SFMTA’s Bayview Community Based Transportation Plan, which was adopted in 2020. The latest improvements include the upgrade or new installation of over two dozen roadway-scale street lights on Oakdale between Phelps and Lane Streets, which will help make walking safer and inviting along this busy street.

The Transportation Authority provided $1.6 million in Prop AA vehicle registration fee and Prop K transportation sales tax funds toward planning and construction of the project.
