The San Francisco County Transportation Authority (SFCTA) has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

This is the eighth consecutive year the Transportation Authority has been awarded the certificate.

“We are proud to once again receive the highest industry honors for financial accounting and reporting, reflecting the Transportation Authority’s continued excellence in stewarding public funds," said Transportation Authority Board Chair and District 7 Supervisor Myrna Melgar. "Thank you to the Government Finance Officers Association for recognizing our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of transparency and accountability in our work."

The Certificate of Achievement was awarded to the Transportation Authority for its annual financial report for the fiscal year that ended June 30, 2024. The certificate was unanimously approved by a diverse committee of government financial reporting experts who judged agencies on their strict adherence to comprehensive reporting, and transparent public engagement.

The Transportation Authority plans, funds, and delivers transportation projects to improve travel choices for residents, commuters, and visitors throughout San Francisco. In its funding role, the Transportation Authority administered approximately $124.7 million from this past fiscal year ended June 2025, generated from several San Francisco’s voter-approved transportation funding programs including: Prop L half-cent transportation sales tax, the city’s Proposition AA vehicle registration fee ($10 per registered vehicle), and Prop D Transportation Network Company (TNC) Tax, as well as San Francisco’s share of the Bay Area Air Quality Management District’s Transportation Fund for Clean Air program ($4 per vehicle).
