The Transportation Authority-created Geary BRT Citizens Advisory Committee (GCAC) has concluded its work on the project. The GCAC typically met every two to three months to advise the Transportation Authority throughout the environmental analysis. The SFMTA has since formed a new Geary Community Advisory Committee to advise on the design and implementation phases of the project.
The Transportation Authority GCAC consisted of thirteen members, representing corridor and at-large interests. It provided input on refining BRT alternatives, considered project benefits and tradeoffs for all users of the corridor, and helped to identify a preferred project alternative.Meetings were open to the public and were held at the Transportation Authority, 1455 Market St., 22nd Floor. Located at Market and 11th streets, one block east of Van Ness Ave., the Transportation Authority offices are accessible and convenient to the Van Ness Muni station, Civic Center BART station, and several bus lines.
