The Transportation Planner Series, Policy and Programming Division, includes three levels of professional Transportation Planners who perform complex and sensitive tasks in the areas of policy, legislation, strategic financial planning, fund programming, and planning; facilitate community outreach efforts; and represent the Transportation Authority on technical and policy advisory groups.
The Transportation Planner is the entry level of the Transportation Planner Series and the Senior Transportation Planner is the intermediate level for the Policy and Programming Division. Under the general supervision of the Deputy Director for Policy and Programming, the Transportation Planner assists and the Senior Transportation Planner performs the duties and responsibilities listed in their respective job descriptions, which are characteristic of the range of duties and responsibilities assigned to each position, and are not intended to be a comprehensive listing.
Completion of a graduate degree in an appropriate discipline such as transportation planning or civil engineering. Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience for Senior Transportation Planner or one (1) year of experience for Transportation Planner in transportation planning, transportation fund and programming or allocation.
Annual Compensation Range
$88,680–$119,712, Senior Transportation Planner
$76,464–$103,224, Transportation Planner
Salary dependent on experience, plus excellent benefits.
Salary is effectively higher since the Transportation Authority offers an employer contribution to a retirement plan in lieu of Social Security.
In addition, the Transportation Authority offers a generous cafeteria-style benefits package, elements of which include, but are not limited to:
