  2. Subcommittee Statement of Purpose, Existing Conditions Related to Skating Infrastructure, and Listening Session — INFORMATION*
    Staff will present some preliminary information from city agencies, such as inventory of skate infrastructure, funding sources, understanding of where skateboards are allowed in public rights of way, and which agencies have jurisdiction over what aspects of skateboarding. Subcommittee members will hear a presentation from local accessibility advocate and skateboarding instructor, Aaron Breetwor, on the merits of skateboards as a design vehicle for non-automotive mid-speed mobility, and present-day impediments to widespread mode adoption. Subcommittee members will also listen to public comment and use that to inform a discussion about topics to prioritize for follow up and discussion at the next subcommittee meeting.
