Moving the City

The Authority Board established the Select Committee on Paratransit in response to ongoing concerns about the rapidly widening gap between steadily escalating costs and available funding resources for MUNI's paratransit program. The specific purpose of the Select Committee is to work with MUNI to develop recommendations for a long-term financial strategy and to identify strategies for optimizing cost effectiveness of the paratransit program.

Pursuant to the Authority's Administrative Code, the Select Committee will convene for a limited period of time, until it has addressed the focused purpose for which it was created. The Committee will be advised by a Paratransit Working Group, as described below, and will ultimately make recommendations to the full Authority Board.

Members of the committee are: Commissioners Dufty (Chair), Alioto-Pier (Vice-Chair) and Chris Daly.

The Committee meets on an ad-hoc basis. We anticipate between 2 and 3 meetings over the next six months.
