![]() About the Authority
The San Francisco County Transportation Authority administers and oversees the delivery of the Proposition K (Prop K) half-cent local transportation sales tax program and New Expenditure Plan, which was passed by 75% of San Francisco voters in November 2003. The Authority was created in 1989 to administer Prop K's predecessor, the Proposition B half-cent transportation sales tax program, which began in 1990 and continued until it was superseded by Prop K. On behalf of the City and County of San Francisco Board of Supervisors, the San Francisco County Transportation Authority is inviting proposals to this Request for Proposals (RFP 10/11-03) from interested firms for audit services to conduct a management performance audit of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (MTA). The BOS has asked the Authority, in its capacity as the Prop K sales tax administrator, to lead the effort to initiate Phase II of the management performance audit of the MTA because the Authority devotes a significant portion of Prop K allocations to capital projects to be delivered by the MTA. Under the direction of the BOS, the Authority will fund and administer the audit contract. The scope of the audit was developed with guidance from the BOS. Proposals must respond to the specific scope of services described in Section III of this RFP. REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS FOR STATE LEGISLATIVE AND ADVOCACY SERVICES
The San Francisco County Transportation Authority is inviting proposals to this Request for Proposals (RFP 10/11-04) from interested firms for State Legislative and Advocacy Services. The proposal must respond to the specific scope of services described in Section III of the RFP. 2010 SAN FRANCISCO TRANSPORTATION PLAN LAUNCHED!
The San Francisco Transportation Plan is the City's blueprint for transportation system development and investment over the next 25 years. The first plan was adopted by the Authority Board in July 2004, and established the City's investment strategy and policy initiatives for the sector through a technical and community-based planning process. Today the city faces many challenges—how best to grow chief among them. The decisions that we make today about investing in our transportation system will have a significant effect on helping to maintain San Francisco’s vitality and quality of life well into the future. The SFTP update will guide our city's investment strategy, and input into key regional and statewide planning efforts, so that we can preserve the city's livability, and improve mobility and accessibility in ways that keep San Francisco vibrant. PROPOSITION AA | VEHICLE REGISTRATION FEEOn July 20, 2010 the Authority Board approved Resolution 11-10 (PDF) which authorized the Final Expenditure Plan (PDF) for a new $10 Vehicle Registration Fee and placed the measure on the November 2010 ballot. In early August, the San Francisco Department of Elections designated the measure as Proposition AA. If approved by the voters, the Proposition AA Vehicle Registration Fee would use the revenues collected from an additional $10 on motor vehicles registered in the City and County of San Francisco for local road repairs, pedestrian safety improvements, and transit reliability improvements throughout the City.
