The Authority Board approved Local Project Screening Criteria for the Regional Transportation Plan/Sustainable Communities Strategy (RTP/SCS) Call for Projects and Funding Principles to Support Regional RTP/SCS advocacy on May 24, 2011. The RTP project submittal process was completed in May 2011.

Between May and July, MTC will evaluate submitted projects seeking discretionary funding through a performance assessment, which along with other policy considerations, will inform MTC's RTP investment discussions starting in October 2011, leading to a decision on a final set of RTP policies and investment priorities in early 2012, and a final adopted RTP in April 2013. More information is available at the Plan Bay Area website. All ideas, including those not submitted to the RTP due to lack of plan status, will also be considered for the SFTP.
